The tree of life

The tree of life - WOODNS

This first piece is a lone tree in the middle of a forest, many trees similar, shown in the background. The tree is a very strong subject as loaded with meaning. In all cultures the tree is revered as the principle of life. Is chosen here by the author to represent the whole way of life, because of its nature in three dimensions, namely the roots sinking into the ground, the trunk with its rings measures the time and branches that rise to the sky. Triad has meant in the past, present and future, but also stresses the link with the three elements necessary for life: earth, water and air. You might say that here the tree is represented as a sort of "Todtenbaum" the ancient tree of death of the Celtic culture, where the symbolism inevitably falls on the individual destiny from birth to death, also left a door open to the regeneration and to a new rebirth. Looking at the picture we can see that for the rest of the series, which is made of these (except for rare shades of meanings) fully dichromatic. High contrast and tried by the master, with the use of contrasting colors and the ends, just as the white and black. Adoperate colors that together characterize and emphasize the eternal conflicts that accompany both the individual, humanity and the entire universe. Daily battles that we perceive and strive, throughout our entire existence. Concepts and diametrically opposed spaces in which we move. Antipodes which light and shadow, good and evil, health and sickness, joy and sorrow, etc.. Straining has always shun "thanatos" darkness or death, if you prefer, and chasing "eros" light and life. Observing the work we can see how the left part of the framework, more precisely the edge is demarcated in black and the light is darker than the right side. Referring to the concept mentioned above we can see that the tree has represented the branches toward the light, a sign that confirms and marks the universal tendency to chase the light.
